Well you can tell i have been into dubs a while to come across this A very long time ago i had a mk1 ( no GTI ) with a carb engine and a tyre shredding 1.1 engine that suffered a problem in the cam lobes wearing effect the fuel pressure. Wind forward a large number of years and i have a mk5 with the same problem , cam fuel pump lobes scored and damaged buy the wear on the fuel pump tappet . Now i know this is a weak point especially as i am running the first iteration of the cams with a RS4 pump . Was replacing the tappet as preventative maintenance when it was discovered So trying to find out what to replace it if there is a few BHP to be had with seems to draw a bunch of internet truths I have however found this usefull post http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=42214.0 Detailing these part numbers S3 BHZ Cylinder head complete 06F103063P or 06F103063PX Piston complete 06D107066K Camshaft exhaust 06F109102D Camshaft intake 06F109101G Seat Cupra BWJ Cylinder head complete 06F103063P or 06F103063PX Piston complete 06D107066K Camshaft exhaust 06F109102D Camshaft intake 06F109101G Edition 30 BYD Cylinder head complete 06F103063PX Piston complete 06D107066K Camshaft exhaust 06F109102D Camshaft intake 06F109101G Normal GTi BWA Cylinder head complete 06F103063NX Piston complete 06D107066C Camshaft exhaust 06F109102B Camshaft intake 06F109101B Normal GTi AXX Cylinder head complete 06F103063NX Piston complete 06D107066D Camshaft exhaust 06F109102B Camshaft intake 06F109101B Now i do have a few options - Buy a new inlet cam , not checked TPS prices as yet , hollow cams not cheap - Fit a second hand edition 30 inlet cam BYD code , my mate has one after going Golf R inlet cam - perhaps fit the Golf R cam if the am going to spent big on new cam Looking at schrick they only changed the exhaust cam for longer duration and sell no inlet cam, The edition30 and the Golf R i suspect from various vortex searches only have a altered fuel cam lobe the rest remains the same , and NA cams do not fit the head The car needs another remap anyway so once its working a remap for another cam would be minimal extra expense anyway Anyone else done this ? Car is 2005 is a AXX engine code running Camshaft intake 06F109101B or A , suspect its A
