Can anyone recommend a good supplier for the above kits? Its for a MK1.

I've found suppliers, but want to know who supplies good quality kits as there is probably some rubbish copies out there. Anyone got any experience?

It also appears that there are two styles of kits, to fit either 13 or 15 inch wheels - i'll be running 15inch wheels but don't want to go really wide as they can look a bit OTT so trying to find a kit that looks reasonable.

    Cheers in advance.

Just for reference, this is too wide:

And this one seems to be slightly narrower:

Much prefer the way the arches slope downwards rather then being horizontal, if you know what i mean[:$]

    :)

i have a full bbs kit if you didn't want to go as wide.

there doesn't seem to be much difference in the two above, the front arches on the first are mounted higher up than the second car.

Fthaimike might be a good call for info?

This is their kit and it looks about the right shape and not mega-wide:

WL or KWL (I forget which). All the ones in the UK have (at some time) been copied off those.

Some of the Berg guys make their own though - the ones with the air vents to the rear for eg. I quizzed the lot of them at the Berg round I went to last year, because they look so right!

Sent an email to WL to see what the difference between 13 and 15'' kits are - a lot more expensive than the other supplier, but i've yet to receive a response from them.

Not had any replies from the above companies, so emailed KWL last night for some info and got an email back this morning - i love companies like that:thumbup:

They sent me this pic of their kit, for 15" wheels:

I'd guess its gonna be good quality, so looks like a good way to go [:D]

They're very similar but the second Schmidt one does seem to have rather large corners to the spoiler, compared to others I've seen. A 2nd pic of the KWL one from above is really needed.

The second one is also blended into the bodywork, but clearly that's post-purchase!

    KWL's 13" wheel arches:

How good does that look! Love the shape of those arches.

KWL say that 7x15 wheels with 30mm spacers would fill the 15" arches, but they didn't say what ET.

If the pic above is the same front spoiler, just with smaller diameter arches, then it looks like the corners arn't as square. I'm sure that they could be 'modded' to whatever shape desired anyway, if necessary.

I wouldn't be blending them in, thats for sure. I'd never get the car on the trailer if the front spoiler wasn't removable (as it is now), and i'd like to be able to remove the arches if necessary, for example if one got damaged. Beetle wing beading FTW!

    LOL:lol:

    Link to KWL's site:

    http://www.kwl-motorsport.de/

The pics of the Golfs seem to show that the front spoiler doesn't have the square corners.

they look nigh on identical. hard to tell with the black one as it all merges into one.

I'm wondering if its really necessary to get the 15" versions. Look at how far up to the trim line they go, compared to the 13" versions, and then look at my car at present:

Thats with 195/45 tyres on a 7x15 rim, ET probably around the 10mm mark.

I suppose the main problem could be the wheels catching on full lock. The only rubbing i've had (on the front) is a tiny bit behind the arches on the wings at the front bottom. The wings will be trimmed back properly to fit the arches, so this wouldn't be a problem.

I prefer the look of those 13" versions soo much more.
