I had the Mk1 up on the lift today for some front end surgery , and said I'd have a look at the rear brakes while I was at it . I was fitting new rear wheel cylinders , and noticed when I took off the brake pipe...no fluid came out? I disconnected the load sensing valve , and pulled and pushed it, but still no flow of fluid . When I pump the pedal I get fluid alright , but it doesn't seem to have a lot of force? This car used to run stupidly low , and spent a couple of years barely being moved , so is it likely the load sensing valve's innards are stuck? Or are they all like that? TIA .
could well be a duff valve. i made up a bracket which allowed me to fit a mk2 load valve on my cabby. dead easy just a flat bit o metal with some holes in
stuck on a new one , made no difference , but the old one was lookin crusty anyways , so no harm. I followed the lines back and found there were 2 check valves on the rear lines , is this normal? I thought these were only on the small block cars.
