Can anyone tell me how to remove the steering lock housing on the steering column which hold the ignition switch and barrel? I have removed the steering wheel, three screws holding wiper/indicator/mfa switches, the switches themselves and the steering lock bolt on the left hand side but am unable to remove the housing unit. A picture of where I have become stuck can be found below.

The splined section in front the spring is a collar that goes over the collumn. You will need a puller to get this off. You can sometimes wack em off with an old screwdriver but not often. A cheap 2 legged puller will do it but you will need a large hose clip or some large molegrips across the legs to stop the legs jumping off the collar as there's not much metal for them to grip.

Get the Sykes Pickervant one from halfords. Only about a tenner, and you'll use it time and time again.
