mk1 conversion to vr6 2.9

    Hey everyone,

    Im converting my mk1 golf to a vr6 2.9 has anyone done this before or hasa anyone got any tips or hints how to go about this cheers

    this is a huge and not straightforward task, i suggest you post up how you plan to do it, IE what bits you have etc and how your going to run it, then people can comment and help you, but toio be honest you would be much better doing the conversion on a mk2 as it is allot simpler

    not bother, unless your doing sprints.

    try going round corners with all that weight in the front.

    might aswell go retro, g40 or a g60 powered lump ;)

    i know a guy doing this in a mk1 cabby! [:s] :lol: :clap:

    he is having what you would call a nightmare with subframes and engine position/height etc

    check out the caddy forum too, there are at least two on there,

    the caddy sharing the same front end to the golf.
