As the title suggests really!!

  1. Restore my mk1 campaign?

  2. Get a mk1 Scirocco and use the mk1 Campaign as a 16v donor?

do you really think youd find a fairly clean mk1 scirroco?? if you can go for it, but most of them are worse than your mk1

certainly get a mk1 'rocco, but I'd not be so sure if it ment the demise of the campaign? [:^(]

what would you do with the golf? repair it and sell it?

have you seen the scirocco that you were offered yet?

read the other pot mate, hes been offered one[:D].

    game on!

Personally i'd 16v the rocco and restore the Golf. The Rocco is almost too much of a niche car to be worth worrying about too much, but the campaign will climb in value if its in good nick.

Right I have just had a chat with the owner of the rocco and I'm off to see it on the weekend, it's in his garage covered in dust.

It's the 1.6 engine and it's been in his garage for the last 4 years and it's on 77,000 miles.

It is sporting some 16" Antera Chrome Alloys (anyone know what these look like?? [:$] ) and a full Longlife Exhaust System

He paid 1000 for it 5 years ago and put it on eBay a year and a half ago and it reached 800 (probably when no-one was into retro rides)

Apparently it needs new brake shoes on the rear (I have some in the garage ;) ) and may need some welding on the tailgate drainage channel or something??

Anyway I'll let you know on Saturday how it goes and I'm sure I'll be asking your advice again.

I'll try to get some pics but don't want to let on I'm getting a bargain!! :p

In fact from a post by mr.brown in my other thread this little water drainage thing is where it needs welding by the sound of things.

I'd get the scirocco, keep it as it is and look after it, it'll probably appreciate and then sort the 16v as and when time allows.

Thats what I think the plan is to be honest.

I'm going to look at the rocco tomorrow aftrenoon. And I'm gonna price up the mk1 for the proper job to be done.

I'm also considering MoRallye's jetta he has for sale as a runaround but that needs a bit of work as I just phoned him and its in london.

Will keep you all updated anyhow.

    Input appreciated ;)
