The 16v certainly isnt 7.5 as standard. 8-8.5

    The 8v is more like 8.5-9 ;)

    All depends on the driver...

    And what the "standards" are,

e.g. Having weight of passenger, fuel etc

As Zoid says, these are the official VW specs; and as pointed out actual figures will change due to car condition, driver, weight etc...

Of course, mine will crack 60 in 7.8 ;)

    Motor mag road test results for a mk2 16v in '86 was 8.0 0-60, 23.3secs 0-100 and 16.2 @ 85 mph for the 1/4 mile and vMax 125 mph on Milbrook 2mile? bowl.

This was with 14" wheels and small bumpers

Info from Golf GTI 1976-1986 Brookland books

(Basically a reproduction of period road tests)

    Mk2 8v '84 k-jet small bumper.

    0-60 8.3
    0-100 26.6
    std 1/4 16.5 @ 85mph
    115 mph vMax

    Indicated 60mph was real 55mph according to the tests.[:-B] 67mph indicated for a real 60mph. ;)
