most 1.3 mk2s are in better nick and havent been ragged there whole life. i have a 1.3 tha im completely gutting out at the moment. if i was you mate get some jom coilovers. there cheap but on a first car there perfect and despite what people say there not to bad ride wise especially on a 1.3 with little weight. also if you go for a slightly better engine do no overlook the 100bhp 1.4 engine from the polo there brilliant little lumps with plenty of poke and go in them.
