Hi Guys, I'm after a bit of advice on my gearbox options. Just like richardmk2 and white_gti 8v who have posted earlier my 20v mk2 is way to revvy. I'm running the standard Mk4 GTI 02J 5 speed box. After my recent trip to ADE tuning for a remap where my car made an impressive 295hp and 360ft.lb I decided I need to do something about the gearbox. I'm only on 195/45/15 which probably make it worse. I'd like the swap to be as simple as possible so would like to keep 02J cable shift and hydraulic clutch. I'm not fussed whether its 5 or 6 speed. Can you use the 5 speed cable shift on a 6 speed? may be a silly question but I don't know unless I ask. I'll also be looking to get a LSD fitted to my potential new gearbox. I'm thinking Mk4 GT TDI box possibly? cheers guys
