Need a bit of help please! I’m currently trying to start my Mk2 Golf Gti 16vT after quite a few years.

The in tank lift pump wasn’t working so I’ve replaced that and the filter. I can now hear it engage when I turn the ignition on but there’s also a liquid trickling sound and no fuel getting to the metering head. I’m pretty sure the piece that the pump connects to is broken as it’s in very poor condition. Does anyone know where to buy a new one? I’d love to replace the whole assembly but VW don’t do it anymore.

Pretty sure it's just a vibration damper and you can just replace it with submersible hose.

They rotten off and the E content on the tank does not help, if it sat for a long time.

Late last year on the Wolf R, I removed the original MK2 gas tank and replaced with a MK3 Vr6 item and fuel lines. Had enough of pump failure.
