well, im not 100% sure what happened yet, but I was trying to overtake someone on the straight at Mallory about 95mph when i got some sort of tap on the rear. This put me on the grass, I cant remember if i corrected it, overly or not. backwards into pit end at realistically 65-70mph. cant exactly remember though ... vids will confirm shortly.
Walked out of it ok, thats the main thing. Ill let the pics do the talking

The 2nd last pic looks like a golf crossed with a cinquecento!

On a serious note at least you walked out of it ok, are you going to build a new car to race?

Wow - I was only reading your rebuild thread for inspiration the other day. Glad to hear you're OK, but another Mk2 bites the dust! On this note, you see several being scrapped every week on Ebay so ones in good nick can only be getting rarer.

Fingers crossed that you can salvage most of the parts, I've got a pair of orange lights, a spoiler and a rusty tailgate for sale if it's any consolation :p

Unlucky mate, didn't you have a problem with the white shell that it couldn't be used in the golf racing?

Don't worry about dry ice mate, petrol and scraper works a treat. Its a messy old business that way but it is effective.

A heat gun used for stripping paint can get them from b&q and a scraper does the trick and it's not that messy just don't over heat it so it does really soft.

Hi J, dont want to hazard a guess at how long, but im on turbo mode! going to drop the engines and subframes/axles/suspension out of both cars this weekend is the plan.
+ get the cage out & cut the cage feet out and seat bars + drill sunroof panel off.
sounds like a plan, better not rain, especially saturday.
I could do with a hand anytime chap! even a spare hour would be good.
im going to start a new car build thread soon.

its not o.e soundproofing luke its aftermarket hence mk28vICED my username I used to compete the white golf in sound quality competitions! LOL

Lol nealy where is skinty when you need him I sure he'll pop up to have a gander at some point!
