Mk2 ABF driveshaft question, knocking sound.

has it helped with the free play on the shaft, or is it still hard up to the hub/box?

 

very strange then, maybe loosen all of the engine mount bolts and see if you can heave the engine over a bit more to the passenger side

 

just to double check when you measure the shaft was that from end to end, or between the circlip notches?

 

you can measure them either way, its just you need match up how you measure to the right dimensions in the driveshaft length guide

so if you measured end to end 665mm is correct for a mk2 golf long shaft. but it would be incorrect if it was 665mm between the circlips, that would be closer to mk3 golf shaft length
