    Hi all

My car is a mk2 ABF and has what i think is a full magnex system and front pipe fitted. The front pipe needs replacing as its started to crack at the pipes near the flange. Can I use a ABF front pipe? or is there any other options of O/E front pipes that would be a direct fit. The standard mk2 16v one looks like it might be a tight fit with the box built into it. I dont want a 4 in1 as I've read there is clearance issues with the bulkhead.

yes you can use a MK3 downpipe, but you would also need a mk3 decat pipe to go with it. or fit the mk3 cat, either with or without the internals intact

If I'm not mistaken if you use the MK3 cat it sits tight against the bottom of the gearstick and melts it, at least it did on ours.

hmm good point, are they really that much larger than the normal centre box? normal MK2 can have catalyser as an option so didnt think it would be an issue

Thanks for the replies, if I go with the mk3 front pipe does it need to be 16v or 8v?

2.0 8v or 16v will do fine, there's 2 lengths of decat pipe available also you may need to trim it down that's all

Just a word of warning, although it was a couple of years ago, we could not get a decat pipeā€¦..full stop, there were none available anywhere. We ended up buying an aftermarket cat and cutting it up just to use the flange. Worth looking to see if you can get one first.
