Mk2 and Mk3 Heater matrix. What's the difference?

    Before I purchase one, whats the difference between the the mk2 and the mk3 heater matrix? is it just build quality and slightly diff shape? or is mk3 more reliable? Any issues sticking the mk3 matrix in a mk2?

    No difference, from VW the mk2 matrix is now a mk3 part number.

    thanks mate, thought it looked the same just couldn.y understand why mk3 were marked up twice the price at some places?

    i think the mk3 one has the bypass type valves in it

    Mk3 matrices built stronger than Mk2, some Mk2's prone to bursting so they installed bypass valves in the coolant hoses to bypass the rad if pressure got too high. No bypassy crap with Mk3.

    from 1992 all matrices were retro changed.
