So a started the car and forgot to lock front door so locked front door and got back in the car with it still running then it just cut out on me any ideas why? And now the oil dump has started filling with petrol?? I've changed the Ecu tested the hall sender changed the blue temp sender changed plugs leads etc.
Even changed the injection rail and all the injectors and still won't run.. if I un lip the injection rail it will start for a few seconds then cut out. If and when I can get it running if I touch the accelerator it cuts out.. I'm pulling my hair out with it now can anyone give me some tips/advice.. and I'm a newbie to petrol vehicles so feeling well out my depth with this
Thanks in advance for your help ????????????

It sounds like dramatic overfuelling if it starts after unclipping the injectors
Would the WOT switch be stuck?

You don't mention how the original earth looked?
It's a known problem on the digis that if this earth is disconnected or high resistance, it can fry the ECU fuel injector control circuit. If it was dodgy, it may have fried both your original and the replacement ECU?

    Hi

I had a mission starting my 1988 pb engined gti earlier in the year having started to restore it. I replaced the fuel lift pump (in tank) it still failed to start then I replaced the main pump under the car. Again I had no luck. I checked the relay as suggested but this didn't work so having noticed the fuel return pipe. I cleaned this out and it started fine. Might be worth a look
