mk2 front door handles

hi,

im in a dispute with an ebay shop trying to tell me the door handles are universal to both sides.... but i thouht that they were side specific due t the trigger mechanisms#

am i right? and if so does anyone have the part numbers for the handles fro the passenger and drivers side. (front)

i have only ever changed rear door handles and they are definately not universal.

 

they are sided

 

yeah i thought so...cause the mechanisms are sided.

 

maybe not they could be universal if you rotate them laterally

 

ETKA lists:

191 837 205 A "Door handle, outer, black" (Left)
191 837 206 A "Door handle, outer, black" (Right)

 

maybe these are cheapo handles that come with two levers that actuate the latch to exchange to flip from side to side and the mechanism from the trigger that moves the latch lever could have two dimples sticking out instead of one, if you get me..

i have never seen an OE universal handle, come to think of it ive never seen a cheapo universal one either - but in this day and age anything is possible, but i cant see it as it would reduce the strength of the whole mechanism

 

nah, it was a genuine handlke that the company sent me. In the end they realised that they were wrong after i provided some info, and i got a refund
