MK2 Gearbox Mount

I'm in desperate need of one, for my mk2 16v.

I'm gonna have to get one today & I've been given a mix of info as to which type to get.

Any suggestions??

If it was me I'd get a 1.1/1.3/16v rubber type. Ask for a 1.1 mount if you do.

Otherwise, just get the standard hydro moount.

Don't get a G60 mount, they don't fit!

that's because the G60 runs an 02A box...

Cheers just been and got one from Eurocarparts, just over a tenner

Is it hard to chnge it, it looks like it could be, any tips??

 

I did mine with the engine/box out of the car so very easy.

If I was gonna attack it now, I'd get a jack under the engine, undo the main bolt into the mount then take off the ali bracket which bolts to the gearbox. Think it's 4 or 5 long 13mm head bolts. Make sure the weight is off the mount/bracket and it will come off easier.

Then I'd see what it looked like then, might need to take off the steel support as well don't know.

Actual mount itself just held in by 2 bolts, comes out very easily and shows you where to stash your drugs if you ever want to do any smuggling
