I recently changed the clutch in my 91 8v. I decided to change the gear oil too (for the first time in 197,000 miles). The box is now notchy to get in gear, esp cold. I used the correct grade oil EP75W80. It was fine before. Any ideas, please?

Align the linkage properly, then consider changing to Redline MTL.....

    Thanks, TC.
What's so good about Redline MTL. I've heard this raved about before. Have you used it?
    Cheers,

Yes, gallons of it. Try a search for it on here or on www.vwvortex.com. It's generally regarded as the best oil for an 020 box. But make sure your linkage is aligned correctly first.....
