    Hello All,

I have an 89 GTI 16v. Recently i found one of the coolant temp sensors broken..It is the one of the three below the distributor, with blue and white wire. I beleive it is for the ECU.?
So for the same reason, my car is still thinks it is running cold all the time,,more fueling!

I believe the VW part number for that is 049 919 501 checked with VW it is 35..!!:o

So i checked with GSF, they dont do it..checked with Eurocar parts, said they do it , 8 :p
    !
But when i went to collect, it doesnt have the spade connector, instead it is got some round pushtype connector in it...! Doh..![:x]

Any ides from my fellow memebers on this situation..? Buying from VW would be my lst option. The eurocar part number is 460440020..

    HELP.!

    kannan

    Does this pic help?

Different type of sender, but same connection method I suspect.

Might need to cut some plastic off the housing if it's in the way.

You possibly have the wrong item !

That ECP number refers to the 90bhp 1.8 engine.

well i saw that..but, the temp range for both (one in my car and the euro car part one.) looks same 125C max...and i think this sensor is been used on a some diesel too..(90 bhp one.?)
    Hope i can get a solution soon..![|)]

    Thank you Jamesa
@ 'Neil Kaya', i have seen the after market type sensor from Eurocar parts (460440020). How did you mange to fit it..? As 'EZ Pete's picture..?

@ Gaddmeister: i did try GSF, they said they used to do the part but cant get now. If you have any partnumber i can try them again.

Again, Thank you all for your help.

has the spade broken off the sender? It happened to mine and i brazed the spade back on, You may be able to solder a wire to it as a temp repair?
