My GTI has central locking with the alarm so if i flush my tailgate would the central locking valve remain in the tailgate and work as normal as well as having a solenoid to open the boot??????

there is obviously no point in that as you will be using a solenoid.
I would imagine you disconnect thecentral locking mech to the boot as you dont want the solenoid activated everytime you unlock the car!

The central locking only locks and unlocks dude, the solenoid pops the catch, so is operated by either an individual circuit on the alarm or a switch inside the car. So u can keep the locking pump active :)

Thats what i thought!! the solenoid just replaces the tailgate lock when required to open the boot
