Mk2 golf vr6 turbo build

    Little update preparing the bonnet boot and wings with some raptor this is the bonnet I got for £20 someone had a moment

    then me and my boy started to put the the engine together

    got to say loving your build so far. feel like doing mine aswell? lol.

    Don't have the know-how to do it myself to the extent you have gone wish I did.

    Thanks bavvm. Think you will be alright doing it yourself self plenty of stuff/people on the site to help you though it. Only thing not on here I think is a bank manager for the build :lol:

    Done a bit more last night. But am now thinking the manifold is the wrong shape and with the down pipe on it looks like it’s to far over to the right.

    Not sure. Will take a photo later with the turbo and down pipe on later guess if I turn the turbo around that might answer it

    Might be a sign to try and make my own as I was wanting a side winder manifold. But they are so expensive

    So been looking a the manifold and I going to have a go and make one something like this if it turns out right :)
    Cleaned up the lower parts of the wing so they meet a little bit better then gravitex the inside and the lower part on the out side.

    Started to paint the slam panel black but then thought should I paint it the colour of the car. Also I am now going to fit air con and weld the other holes up in the bulk head just to add some more things to the list. Also got some new mk 2 golf lower leg arms as the mk3 one are longer and make the camber wrong. Amateur error on my part[:D]

    Could you spin the turbo 180 and then clock the cold side?

    I will take a look tomorrow also ordered a engine hoist
    so I can put the engine in and mock some other bits up

    Jurys out on that at the mo. This will be the first time tig welding this could go Pete tong and be the most expensive manifold ever. [:D]
