Wondering if someone can shed some light on my MK2 Golf headlight loom. I inherited this project and it’s rather messy…

first, blue and black cable with no end on it. Then next to it a black and red cable with a crimped connector on. Goes nowhere.

For reference it’s next to the full beam. Am not really sure what to do with this though.

Attached to the same piece of loom are 3 of these connectors that also aren’t labelled and go nowhere currently:

There seems to be a single red line and single blue line.

Right next to that, a black/red and black/blue double connector. IMG_3746.jpeg

thank you for any help offered.

A 1-pin connector with plain Blue wire tends to be for the alternator, to complete the circuit for the charge warning light.

black/blue & black/red is reverse switch originally, but since they're next to headlight may have been scavenged wiring for something else. chop and insulate, only worry if stuff doesnt work

red/white would more likely be rad fan after-run if its near passenger headlight, connected to a relay above the fusebox. as above though, ignore unless things arent working (main beam would be white or white/black)

for the last lot, the 2 pin in that bunch is reverse switch, chunky 1 pin is starter and small 1 pin is alternator
