Absolutely gutted to be writing this, but I took the car to the wheel alignment done and long story short the guy decided to reverse off the ramp with the passenger door open, it has completely ruined the door and possibly pulled the hinges and support for the door, hopefully it's an easy fix but I'm not looking optimistically. I'll attach a few pics in a minute

That's the door fully shut, it's pushed the door forward and damaged the front door. Have to see what happens managers tonfind a replacement door but not sure how it'll fit

Check it hasn't pulled the roof down, doesn't look good to me unfortunately

Imo it needs several opinions and not just trying a door! If you want advice message me and I'll send my number

New door will need to be painted to match the rest of the side which in reality means the side will need painting which in turn will mean probably writing the car off unless it's got an agreed value and doesn't look good for the garage

Not just a 200 repair imo

I did think the roof might be damaged to be honest, I've got a door just to see how bad the chassis is but it will need to be checked properly as I do thing the shell is bent, I'll message you now thanks!

A guy from dent magic has looked at it (don't worry they won't be touching the car but he was round the corner so gave an opinion) but he did say it needs a full side respray at the very least, the car has an agreed value of 3,000 through my insurance so hopefully it will be covered to get the repair but will have to wait and see!
Just such a pain just finished the car and now it might be scrapped

Ouch. I'd be sooo upset/angry. Such a shame to have such a lovely mk2 written off :(

Got some good news I suppose, had the car inspected today and it is repairable, going to need a new door and the full side repainting. Got a door coming this week which is postive but might take a few weeks to get repainted! I've seen the CCTV footage and the bloke wasn't paying any attention and was chatting to someone as he got in the car, was quite annoying to see he wasn't looking properly. The garage have said they will be paying for everything so will see what the next few weeks hold!
Took a photo of the car before as I had removed the arch trims which I thought suited it much more

The car is going to be saved! There's no way I was going to let her get written off, had a nightmare with the garage who only offered 500 to repair the damage and the tried to get their insurance to write the car off as they only valued the car at 1000 lol [:x] my insurance have valued the car at between 5-6k so that won't be happening! had to go through an accident repair specialist who have been a dream, so the car is at Brin Jones in Bristol now and the repairs will begin next week  at the moment the car needs to have both passenger side doors, the rear quarter panel and the roof resprayed so I though if she needs that much doing id see how much to get the rest of the car repainted as well as there is a few bits that needed doing anyway so hopefully get a quote back and see if I can stretch to get the rest of her done, fingers crossed it will be a good price and then the fun begins!
