mk2 gti electric windows

ive got a b reg gti 8v which has been fitted with electric windows. the switches are really poor and sometimes dont work at. drivers one goes down fine but sometimes wont go up. the switches dont seem to be working properly. any way of fixing the actual switches as they dont feel right when you press them? or what car can i get these switches out of??

Are they the standard Mk2 switches that fit in the centre console???

If so then they are virtually impossible to repair due to the difficulty in getting the little pins inside to line up correctly.

I would just get some new switches fropm another MK2 Golf or a MK4 Polo which also has the same..... Not sure about other models.....

 

yeah its the standard switches in the centre console.

will have a look in scrap yard for a set.

I'd get some from GSF. Ones from scrappys could be corroded and burnt out so be careful.

yeah i replaced mine with ones from german&swedish.
i tried taking them apart but they don't like going back together.
