MK2 GTi or Corrado 16v

    hi all,

    contemplating buying a 2nd car. ive owned a mk2 golf previously and have thought about buying another. i have also seen a corrado 2.0 16v for sale. are these cars any good? i dont know much about corrados so any help and advice would be welcome :)

    Corrado is too heavy to get decent performance from 16v, its G60 or VR when it comes to Corrados.



    Imo of course :)

    Agreed, altho the 2.0 16v is very tuneable so is a good choice if your modifying,
    Only the problem with the g60 is you can rev it like the vr or 16v,

    with the corrado,id go for an 1800 16 valve,as late a model as possible.

    then throw a 2.0 16v lump in it and throw away the cat [8D] then add a good measure of 45mm webberness!

    Yip 1.8 better imho, but to counter riley- id go early as can get non sunroof & wind up winds thus lighter, & yip 2.0l bottom end, but sod carbs for an idea! ;)
