    i'm after a 6point cage for my mk2.

    Can anyone recommend any brands?

i know safety devices are a favourite but as they're no longer made in the UK i've heard delivery is a nightmare.. local dealer said circa 6weeks! [8(]

GVK can answer on SD cages.

They are the obvious choice, OMP being an alternative.

Chris, look at my thread in motorsport, it goes from ordering, waiting etc to the fitting of it.

    SD 6 point etc...

Rollcentre Racing as another alternative too.

I'll be needing a racing cage for my Mk2 soon. [8D]

thanks for pointing your old thread out gary. [:*:]

there's some useful info in there.

SD cage is tempting as it seems 'simple' to fit.

but then i know full well i could buy and OMP one for about half the price and get on of the fabricators/welders at work to shorten the legs for me.

    decisions decisions [:s]

http://www.customcages.co.uk/ as well as rollcentre are a good UK cage company.

This is the weld in I had done on my pug recently.

The benefit of a UK company is you can talk to them about your requirements etc.

Are you going bolt or weld in ?

    preferably bolt in.

I'd be interested to see any pics of the mounting points of someone like Rollcentres cages on a mk2.

ideally i'd like them to mount on the sill or another structural point of the car (or very close to it in the case of the front legs) rather than just through the footwells.
