What's best option for my headlining, trying to salvage the original or just replacing the lot?.

Seems the foam has failed rather than the adhesive.

Are the headings easy to remove?.

    Cheers all.

Relatively easy to remove but having been down this road and restored ours, next time I would buy a new one.

It's probably worth a try to reglue that part. Trouble is you can't glue the powdered foam.

You would need to use abrasive paper to clean the foam off the headlining, then try to clean up the fabric as best you also, without pulling more down.

Then lots of spray on glue to both surfaces and see how it sticks.

You don't have anything to loose by trying!

Same here, that's how I ended up supplying the PDK Klassik ones.

I tried to glue mine when it failed and it worked where I glued it but a year or so later just starting sagging in other areas and was never really happy with the first glue job I did anyway so replaced it with the one on eBay which is a different finish but looks and fits well. Just don’t so what I did, that’s to cut out the sunroof aperture before fitting. You need to fit the head lining to he car then cut out the sunroof aperture with it installed so you can stretch the material into into the actual aperture of metal roof rather than the aperture in the headlining if that makes sense.

I was struggling to get the Pillar trims off (where front sear belts mount on a 3 door), how do the ends of the seat belt height adjusters come off?.

Didn't want to break them trying to force them off!.

The knobs on height adjusters pull off but they're usually rrrreaallyyy stuck on there. Try wiggling a bit while pulling/applying some leverage. I've done this a few times and usually managed OK, but yesterday I did it on an 87 mk2 and broke both adjusters so be careful!

I'd recommend doing some stretches and warming yourself up too to avoid pulling any muscles

I broke my drivers side one,the metal clip inside corrodes so when you warm it up it will come off,was lucky and was able to repair the adjuster.
Use a screwdriver when its off and spread the metal clip open more then you don't have to force it on and off ever again.

for the B pillar trims, take the screw out then push it upwards to unhook. dont just yank it off you'll bust the hooks

I pushed it up but wasn't enough to release the trim as the lever end got in the way.

On a brighter note sunroof opened fine for first time in probably 15 years and roof looks mint underneath!.
