Hi all Looking for some help regarding the bracket that attaches to the chassis leg which holds power steering fluid lines before it gets to the fluid bottle. I have the bracket: My mk2 didnt have P/S before. I went to fit this bracket in the holes on the chassis leg and after removing the grommets I was greeted with this: Two hexagonal holes with no threaded inserts to screw the bolts into. Ive checked diagrams and I can seem to see whats meant to be on the chassis leg side for the mounting of this bracket. Can someone let me know what I am missing please? Thank you in advance
Yes I was thinking to use a threaded insert like above but wanted to see what the oem fitting is first and if I can get hold of it
the oem fitting is a pair of rivnuts I took the trouble of digging some out of a donor car in the scrappy many years ago, then realised what they were after edit: thread on the bolts is M6x16
Ah okay so they had rivnuts from factory. I thought there would have been some kind of captive nut in there before the chassis leg was made. Thanks John!
