Help needed please. With Christmas finished I thought I would have a go at removing the sunroof tray that is fitted to the inside of the mk2 roof.
Bought a spot weld drill bit
    Read different threads
Started to clean the sunroof aperture paint off to reveal the spotwelds and 8 cant see them.... honestly, nothing pokes me in the eye as being obvious. Even the front area that has a sort of crimped part to it doesn't seem to have any circular signs of a weld.
This is an early mk2 but would that make a difference?
I can see the plates that are welded further back on the sides, but this is an absolute ball ache and does need removing.
    See pics..
Any help always gratefully appreciated, as until this roof gets sorted, I can not put anything back in the car

Are they not spot welds over the arrows? Tbh I'd never run a flap wheel over them, I'd use a wire wheel. The flap wheel would make them harder to see.
