Cautious about blasting this with a hair dryer in case it splits, but option is to have it re-covered if the ‘repair’ fails. Anyone stripped and had this part wrapped?

the covering peels off easy enough, then its a case of finding the right material for the job as it needs to be extra flexible to get into the hole. or if you get fluffy stuff and do some carefull trimming you should be able to get a neat job without any of the joins showing

I am going to strip and spray mine satin black. Seems the easiest and safest option.

Hair dryer didn’t fare to well. I drilled a hole in the rear, inserted superglue, applied heat and whilst the material did get more flexible it wouldn’t stick. ill see if it can be wrapped and if not the spray paint or flocked?
    I’ll report back on results.
