can anyone help? i've a mk2 vr6 and every now and again the engine just cuts out completly whilst being driven! there was a mistake at the local petrol station where some diesel got into the unleaded tanks and i happen to catch the remaining mixture of them both. Is that the problem or is it more serious than that?

that could be the proble,..... Did you drain you tank and clean all the fuel filter.

It also could be electical but go with your gut instinct first.

Does it cut out when being driven hard, or just at random. Fast driving (full throttle) cut-out is more likely to be fuel starvation.

I hope the dumb-ass local petrol station is paying.
