    Hi Guys!

Got an MOT due in a couple of weeks and have a leak on the exhaust. Someone in the past has welded the cat to the downpipe and the cat needs replacing. Is it possible to remove the downpipe without lowering the front sub frame?

I've got a friend at a garage who will attempt the removal and fit the new one. He just wants to know how much of a job it is...

    Thanks in anticipation!!!

grind the cat off and you shouldn't need to drop subframe to replace the downpipe, it'll come out from above if not bellow. I fitted a manifold with downpipe attached from above with the engine in, it was a bit of a squeeze but I got it in there eventually!

Can be taken out from above with inlet manifold removed.
