As this subject seems to be a minefield, I thought I'd ask to get a definitive answer on this. So, my current Mk2 Golf is running a set of early Mk3 GTI 8v callipers, made by LUCAS. New discs are 280 x 22 thick, but looking at the various threads regarding pad thickness on this setup, which pads do I actually need ? And what thickness ? There is way too much conflicting info when searching this particular issue, so any help or correct info would be much appreciated. Cheers guys
As far as i know only 239mm maybe 256mm disks have two pad choices, as they were solid and vented. For mk3 lucas 280x22 5x100 etka lists pads pn 357698151B.
if you have proper 280mm calipers, you use the normal 280mm thicker ones, or you can still use the thinner 16v ones, they'll still go. you would only worry about pad thickness if either you have 256 calipers and/or have certain BBS RA: 26/08/17 *post 262* Toyotec's 'JENVEE'. The 6 speed era
