seen a couple of these on ebay (or maybe the same car?)

    rare mk3 tdi driver

both in same green with a P909 xxx plate

did these really exist as a special edition, or has someone stuck some alloys and a badge on 'em?

if these are real special editions what did they come fitted with?

might replace the tired old estate with one of these...;)
    cheers

You're looking at swapping your car, based on the word 'rare' in the description on eBay?

    You're an idiot

wouldn't say that too loud - i've heard some people will pay hundreds for a 'rare' temp gauge / gear knob / brouchure ... you probably get the idea.

no, i was looking into getting some advice from people that know their stuff,
i assume this is still the right place,
before knowing if it is indeed 'rare'

BTW there was never a Haynes manual made for my previous vehicle - was probably rarer than a Rallye:lol:

No [:s] there's loads of them round here. A mate has a really nice silver one actually, though it's probably not rare, you don't see many silver MK3s let alone TDIs..

not fussed if these TDi s are 'rare'...
just wondering if the 'Driver' badging meant there was some improved suspension / seats
or is it just a GL with alloys?

GL with alloys, about as desirable as a rolling stones limited edition, which is not very

well, it doesn't have the spoiler or interior that a petrol driver has, also has fully coded bumpers which you normally find on a gl tdi, but gl tdi's have gti headlights i'm pretty sure, so it's probably just a cl tdi........

I had a 3dr tdi (CL) some time ago, and whilst it didnt refer to a driver on the logbook, it did when getting insurance - I tried looking up identical spec cars to mine at that point and they were the same.

Just as a side note, all 3dr TDI's were the CL model, the GL wasnt available in 3dr TDI flavour - the later models had fully colour coded bumpers front and rear, but the side strips and mirrors were unpainted. Mine was exactly the same as in the advert

It's a bit rare in that it's a 3 door TDI, which were not sold for long, but it's not even a GL, it looks like a CL TDi to me, the MK3 driver came with charcoal sports interior, GTi headlights, multi spole alloys, etc.
This is a 3 door CL Tdi and nothing more.
