just failed the MOT on the front suspension mounts, anyone know whats involved in replacing them? can they be done from the top or does the strut need to come right out? meaning seperating all the lower arm etc? rough idea of labour? any help much apprecited

it's a strut out job, and should be 1/2 an hour per side by anyone worth their salt with air tools

I suspect you could just about do it on the car, but it would take a lot longer than just whipping the struts off. There's no separating of lower arms, just two bolts at the bottom of the strut.

If I was you I would try and do them on the car undo the bolt on the top mount and leave the bolts on the bottom of the strut - that way you may not have to get the camber/tracking sorted, prob save yourself about 50 quid.. Mr Ben have you had your camber/tracking sorted yet if so where did you get it done?
