I posted a guide a while back to force the fuel gauge into real-time mode so the needle goes up and down as the fuel sloshes around in the tank. Can't seem to find it at the moment but it may help. On my MK2 (with MK3 clocks) the gauge would become out of sync and always read lower than what was in the tank. This reset the fuel level and it worked fine after.
I have a procedure saved for resetting the mk3 fuel gauge, cvant recal where I found it though: 1. Place key in ignition. 2. Turn ignition to the "RUN" position but don't start the car. 3. Press and hold your "Trip Reset" button in your gauge cluster. (Keep holding it) 4. Turn ignition off. 5. As soon as you complete step "4" IMMEDIATELY start your car (you should still be holding the "trip reset" 6. Once you have verified car is running you may release the trip reset. See if your gas gauge moved at all.
right chase the wire to the cluster, if its undamaged then this suggests a clock fault. i take it the dash temp works fine?
Evrithing is working fine only fuel gajet is not working. I cant uderstand why i dont have plus on that two wires on my fuse box ? Test with other cluster the same thing
