mk3 golf gti brake discs and pads

can anyone tell me the size of the discs on my 1998 (r) mk3 gti as i need to replace my front pads and discs and are they vented or not i was told by shop they are either 280 or 288 i havent got a clue.

change to 288's was april 1996

yes they're vented

as for the sensors, it'll depend on manufacturer

besides, theyre gimmicky imo.

 

The 288's have a metal pad clip and calipers are made by ATE

 

I had the same problem. They tried to sell me the wrong pads and discs . I have a MK3 R reg and it dose have 288mm discs and ATE calipers. I'm glad to hear that the brakes fitted to my car are the correct factory fitted brakes.
