I have a spare mk3 gti front anti roll bar and was recently asked if I had one for a mk2. Obviously they fit the subframe the same but the mk3 gti one is longer at the ends and possibly shaped slightly differently, so has it/ can it be done by cutting the excess off ? I have trial fitted the mk3 one on a mk2 subframe/arms and it does line up with the links but they may be slightly rotated from their normal alignment.

potentially doable, but tbh just get the right one. 4 stud mk3 bars are the same fit as mk2 so theres no shortage of them about, most common these days be mk3/3.5 cabby in scrappy I guess
