    hi guys,

just bought a 1992 mk3 black gti. really pleased with it thus far but does anyone know where i might be able to download a manual to have a look at? maybe there's one on here, probably is, but at first glance i cant find anything.

i have one other wee problem, whilst driving home this evening the temp light started flickering. only a mile and a half journey like (enough to send the temp gauge to mid range though). checking the bonnet looks like the coolant is low-ish. i'm a little confused though because i swear the dude i bought it off told me G12+ is the stuff to use, but it looks pretty blue to me so i assume its been filled with cheap rubbish. probably tesco value. what i want to know is if this guy was actually correct that G12+ is the stuff, or do i just fill it with the same blue thats in their now. can you mix them? i dont think you can but i thought i'd ask before i did anything! i'd rather put the right stuff in even it means draining it out so appreciation in advance for your advice!

    thanks,
    stuart.

The temp gauge should pretty much always be slap on halfway.
Shouldn't mix the coolant, can't remember the colour of the coolant (red i think)
Temp light is probably the coolant level light, if it's low it will start flashing.

g11 is blue, g12 is pink and g12+ is purple. G11 & 12 dont mix, but G12+ will mix with anything.

check out your plastic flanges, I'm willing to bet they need to be replaced. if so do them both and flush the block out with water and fill it with nice fresh g12+ :)
