mk3 headlights

    Is it true that the mk4 headlights fit the mk3 other than the wiring

    You can buy "Mk 4-style" headlights for the Mk3...but they look sh*t...

    It is possible, but only if your Mk3 is American.
    As shown in this link - they have a metal radiator support that needs bending and chopping

    they don't look too bad, well not next to the 4 light conversion I was offerd in a petrol station once by some youths :( had a quick look at the link on the mk4 lights and it dose look like a fair bit of work?

    they look really nice, my gti has the mk4 style headlights, there not cheap though! mine will be for sale when I break it!

    I bought a set and got rid after 3 weeks. Looked crap and they misted up. Comon prob for aftermarket lights. I would stick with oem or go for hella twins

    the ones I have haven't misted up at all and ive had them ages!

    has any one actually found an inprovment in the quality of beam any of the after market lights put out? as I have never really been too happy with my mk3 standard lights... I did try the fancy Halfords one last winter but did not really see much inprovment :(

    Ive found that fitting the HID lights make a massive improvement

    Do you not have to have some sort of fancy self levelling system fitted to the headlights if they are running a system like these? and I am guessing these are not a easy to add on or the sort of cost I am looking to spend on the old golf?

    No self level system needed just make sure you get them adjusted correctly, I got my set for 35 new. You can get more expensive sets but they are no different to the cheaper sets, they are all made with the same components in the same way. They are really easy to fit

    Incorrect. To pass an mot, hid headlamps must have a self levelling system and wash function
