Mk3 wheel ponderings

    Haha all good fun. Not sure whether to plump for new wheels or spend the money on some tyres for these. Rear needs doing but I'd rather do the whole lot as this morning was a bit of a wake up call

    so if you got new wheels you wouldnt be able to afford decent tyres?

    then thats a no brainer. decent tyres over bling wheels any day of the week!

    and anyway, 15" tyres are the cheapest going!!

    Kinda, if I buy new wheels then there is quite a varied amount of choice with the tyres that come with them. One set of montreal IIs have some quite expensive quite new tryes and I think I could get them for 200 so it's a bit of a weigh up.

    I have 2 proxes sitting in my gayrage so I'd only need to fork out for 2 tyres if I keep dem willz yo

    if the montreals come with mk4 16" wheels then theyll be miles too big and youll have to buy 4 tyres anyway

    most of them aren't on their standard tyres anymore. been out a fair few years!

    No way, I do 20miles a year.

    Lucy has the same tyres on her a3 and they look pimping

    Too rich for me though

    you want 205/45/16 or 195/45/16 if you go for 16s.

    Yeah will do.

    Tempted to have a look under the plastic trim on the arches..

    Not sure I should though :lol:
