Did you get this sorted? Was it the 514/514A part number differences between the BFH engines for the slide rail, I was wondering if that change was due to the failures mentioned or vice versa. With the new cam numbers I was wondering if there's any prob there as there was a different part number for the rail on later BFH's - plus I was also having a quick look for the variances between the ecu's (with the cams/your part numbers cited, being touted as TT on oempc even though they are same between the TT and BFH) - and there's one or two variances in the ecu which I was wondering may have an effect. Just musing! Plus I'm laughing for obvious reasons twatmx by Rick B, on Flickr
Evening mate. VW put new chains on with the New VVT's. 022109087J Inl. 022109088M Ex. No faults. All running sweet as. It has clearly been mis-diagnosed and they are not willing to raise there hands. Initially as I'm sure you've read that it had no faults except chain values being fcuked, hence why the car went in. VW had told me the chains cannot stretch and that it's a VVT issue. Changed all that, then heaven behold Fault up on ECU and EML Light on. Timing fault code bla bla. Sat there for just under 3months finally they put a new set of chains on with the new VVT's and all runnin smoove.. After 10K the chains went to -4/-7. Still case is under investigation with VW Headoffice MK with a Customer Relations Manager. They are not MK5 VVT's. MJ.
