im looking into upgrading my standard 1.8t dumpvalve on my mk4 golf for a forge item (because im a big kid and ilike the noise) is this one any good for my car or do i need a different one and how would i adjust it to get it right? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190809927066?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1426.l2649
Seriously dont bother mate. They make your car run like poo. I bought one not long ago, which i used on my Mk2. I removed it straight away as it was making it run really badly. If you want the noise, like i did , drill your airbox, add a performance panel filter and a forge 007p, and you'll definitely get all the noise with out any running problems
cheers, what do you think of cone filters on these engines or the induction kits that go down behind the headlight?
I did run a cone filter for a while on my MK2 1.8T, but tbh i do prefer the drilled airbox option. The shorter cone filters seems to draw in too much heat from the engine bay. The ones which go behind the headlight / bumper is probably the best option if you want to go with the cone filter.
