Can anyone tell me where this is on a mk4 Golf 1.8T?

A mate called round earlier today to use VAGCOM & we couldn't find the port.

Also, is it possible to adjust the volume of the alarm using a VAGCOM? This is what he wanted to do as he says the alarm is nowhere near loud enough. He seems confident that you can, personally I haven't a clue.

Not sure thats correct, all the mk4s I've seen have the port in the centre console, under the heater controls / climate control, there is a thin removable panel.

oh right. well when I was looking for it I noticed the thin panel but didn't want to break anything trying to force it off as my mate had only bought the car a few days before. Will try that when he brings it back round this week.

Deffo be under the heater panel in a mk4.
Don't be scared to pull the trim panel, it'll come off before it breaks!

You can adjust things on the alarm, like activating the auto lock/anti hi jack and make the alarm bleep when activated so, increasing the volume should be doable!
