Welcome to the forum Ramm. The arches are quite big on mk4's but going low with 18s will more than likely cause you problems, and put stress on everything. How low are you going and how comes you have gone for 18's.

Anniversary and R32 both came with 18"s and people run them silly low. As long as width and rolling radius are kept sensible, should be fine.

What is the offset of the Dotz rims, and what tyres are you running?

I run 18s on mine, lowered 40mm, and no problems in the last 100k miles.
