I have a 1.8t GTI, the motor was rebuilt 4,500 miles ago and a new k04 turbo was put on, timing and components were also done at the same time. I am pretty new to VWs so I was just wondering if I could get some opinions on this clacking noise my car has been making before it's completely warmed up.. That sounds odd does it only sound like that on start up n coldstart? Soundz like its coming from the cam side ?maybe a bearing on the cam., or could be sai pump? But it dies sound like its in rocker cover area .
Has the tensioner pulley bin tightened properly? Could be loose n flapping back n forth ? Jus an idea .
