well, apparantly mkIII interiors fit straight into mkII's. and mkIV interiors fit into mkIII's with slight modifications (mkIII frames put onto the front seats and the rear sgo straight in but look odd), so it must be possible.
I'll try and get some pics of my mate's but he's only done 1 seat and he did it the hard way, ie: New mk4 seat runners welded to floor of mk2. I'm sure there must be an easy way to do it.
well if i take the sub frames off the mk4 seat and put my mk2 subframes on that would fit or do i have to get a mk3 subframe. modify it then bolt that on a mk4 seat to get it to fit hmmmm. might just have to whip the recaros out my mums mk4 and have a play around...
ok i have peeled off my paint, but i dropped it on the floor looks a bit like a really hard jigsaw....is that ok??
Can be done but I would imagine a lot of work. Possibly be able to put the front seats onto Corrado subframes? I've seen a European Mk2 with full Mk4 leather recaros inc rear seats with the 3 headrests!!....
ok i have been offered some for around 500 mk4 gti recaros black cloth should i take the leap? Edited by: NoFearKid
Speak to MJ Interiors, I'm pretty sure i read somewhere that they have converted the Mk4 Recaros into a mk2. Let me know how you get on, the recaros from my turbo would sweet in my G40, but think the G40 seats may look a bit pish in the GTI Alan
yeah i have thought about doing that to my mums gti, she probably wouldnt even notice. you know what women are like
I tell thee you could get a decent mk4 recardo trim for 1/2 that up ere in the north. I'm after the leathers for me mk3 ooaarr that would be grand. Edited by: 1990
Its a 5 door though [:^(] so wouldnt be good for you. I'm not too far from MJ's if you want to ring him and see what he has. Edited by: 1990
id love some blue mk3 colour concept leather seats would look the dogs but i just dont have the cash for em maybe one day ill find some in a scrappie
Have you had any luck with this? Im in the same boat, i've just been offered a mint Mk4 Recaro interior for my Mk2. Just wondering if its worth the hastle or would I be better off selling it and buying a Corrado interior which would be easier to fit. Id be looking to fit front and rear seats in both cases, what do you reckon?
