ive bought a mk4 tdi pd 115 engine code AJM last week and the oil pressure warning light comes on with STOP etc on the display when i accelerate when cold, when the car is idling or as soon as the car is at normal running temperature it doesnt do it, ive changed the oil and flushed the engine thinking it may have been sludge/old oil but its still happening, could it be a faulty sensor? if so where are they located? this has only started in the last few days, any help would be appreciated, thanks

did you you take the sump off and clean the strainer on the oil pump pickup pipe
engines of this type are prone to the strainer getting blocked

yes it could be the switch but i would not drive it till you know you have good oil pressure

what sort of mileage do you have on the car
is it on a long life service schedule

150k, it drives fine with no noises or rattles, just the light coming on when under acceleration, as soon as its warmed up its fine, no noises and no oil warnings, i just got hold of a mate who is a vw techincian and he reckons it sounds like a faulty switch, until i sort it i'll use my mrs car for work
