Mk5 GTI Hissing

Hi all, I am experiencing a hissing noise from under the engine bay which I only get when accelerating? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First thought would be a boost leak, is it down on power, any warning lights on?

No there is a slight lack of power but hardly noticeable and no lights have come on on the dash board, I would like to try and avoid taking it to the main dealer because they would just cost me an arm and a leg.

 

If the leak isn't causing any measurements to go out of range then it wouldn't necessarily cause a fault. Best bet is to get someone to give the throttle a stab while you listen under the bonnet. Hopefully it'll be fairly easy to spot
