I apologize for the stupid question, but I'm still not all that knowledgable with the small-block engines. Anyway, I have in my garage an '86 Golf "Flair", 1.3, motor code "MH" in need of an alternator, I'm trying to do it on the cheap. I can't seem to find an alternator for the 1.3 kicking around in the local scrapyards, will an alternator from a 1.6 or 1.8 mount up OK?
try looking on mk2/3 polos instead...big block wont fit have you tried a new brush pack ? it often sorts them out
Thanks for the prompt response, pigbladder. I know for sure that it's not the brushes, it's the bearings.
